NICOLAS CORREA GROUP, the first company at international level to obtain environmental product declaration in its range of milling machines

Nicolás Correa Group, through its subsidiary GNG Manufacturing SA has developed environmental product declarations (EPD) in its family of milling machines according to the international EPD ® System.
Beyond certification, the group's commitment is to offer products that help the sustainability of its own industrial operations and their own customers.
“Among the motivating factors that led us to develop this ambitious project is the position before the Directive ErP (energy related products), the focus on eco-design and environmental communication and verifiable comparable products," explains José Ignacio Nicolás Correa, President Chief Executive Officer of Nicolás Correa.
Their invest in sustainability as a strategy of product differentiation has led to Nicolás Correa Group to be a reference at national and international level, because it is the first company in the machine tool industry that has developed EPDs of their machines.
Nicolás Correa Group has worked with the Technological Centre of Miranda de Ebro (CTME) who has coordinated the development of studies of life cycle analysis (LCA) of 16 milling machines under the UNE-EN ISO 14040 and 14044 and the environmental product declaration of 8 of them.
"With the introduction of innovative eco-design concept in the development of modular families of milling machines and knowledge gained through the environmental profiles of products we have gone a step further by participating in the development of the Calculation Rules (PCR Product Category Rules) CPC 44214: Machine-tools for drilling, boring or milling metal according to the international EPD ® system. Thus, we transferred our knowledge and bring at the system harmonized common rules to facilitate to the sector companies to develop their own environmental product declarations," said Javier Eguren, Chief Commercial Officer of Nicolás Correa Group.
