14 November, 2025AFM CLUSTER presented the VLF4EU (Virtual Learning Factories for EU) project during the 24th Manufacturing Congress, held in San Sebastián from 29 to 31 October 2025. Organized by AFM CLUSTER, the event once again turned the city into the capital of digital industry, bringing together leading experts, companies, and technology centres to discuss the most cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.
AFM CLUSTER, which hosted several exhibition stands during the Congress, dedicated one of them to present and share information about the VLF4EU project — an initiative that seeks to transform vocational education and training (VET) through the integration of virtual reality, augmented reality, and digital twins into technical learning environments. These technologies provide students and professionals with immersive, hands-on experiences in digital and sustainable manufacturing processes, preparing them to lead innovation in industrial SMEs.
The Congress, which gathered around 600 participants, combined a rich programme of keynotes, technical presentations, B2B meetings, and an exhibition area, serving as an ideal setting to connect training institutions, research centres, and industrial companies committed to innovation and competitiveness.
As a European alliance of virtual learning factories, VLF4EU promotes collaboration between VET providers, universities, SMEs, and industry associations. Its presence at the Manufacturing Congress, supported by AFM CLUSTER, highlighted the project’s contribution to bridging the gap between education and industrial transformation — fostering a new model of immersive, collaborative, and future-oriented learning.
