27 June, 2016

On Wednesday 7th June, a group of ironmongers and suppliers from the QF+ cooperative, from the area of Catalonia, came to Amorebieta to visit IZAR.

During the first part of the visit, Carlos Pujana, the company manager, talked to them about the history of the factory, its evolution over time, its philosophy as social economy and the production process, or lean-manufacturing, customer-centred in all manufacturing areas. They were also able to see the main tools: bits, mills and taps, where IZAR are leaders, to resolve the most complicated applications.

After this presentation, the group was split into two, and they were able to see, first hand, the production process at full capacity, where they were told that it is the customer who manages the manufacturing priorities. They learnt about the mini-companies of bits and tools (mills and taps), and other areas of the enterprise, such as the storage area where the smart automated warehouses stand out.

At the end of the visit, the company presented them with the IZAR centenary book and its Sustainability Report, for them to learn more about the Amorebieta firm, which stands out for its transparency, among other values.

Once the “formal” part of the visit ended, the QF+ associates and the commercial team of IZAR enjoyed lunch together at Boroa restaurant, located close to its facilities.

During the rest of the afternoon they enjoyed a trip to Urdaibai, a biosphere reserve, and to Bermeo, on a very sunny day, which enabled them to enjoy the whole programme.
