FAGOR AUTOMATION PARTICIPATES IN THE MASTER·S DEGREE IN DIGITAL MANUFACTURING OFFERED BY THE IMH

13 January, 2021

Several experts from Fagor Automation have participated for the second consecutive year in the Master's Degree in Digital Manufacturing and shared their technological knowledge with the students taking the course.

From the onset, the program offered by the IMH Dual Engineering University School (associated with the UPV/EHU) has been designed in close collaboration with companies and entities belonging to a variety of industrial sectors in the area, such as the machine tool, aeronautics, automotive sectors, etc.

Fagor Automation professors have taught several classes within the course titled "Automation of industrial processes". Their ample experience in the development and manufacture of machine automation and control products, as well as digital control and high-precision measuring systems for the machine-tool industry has enabled them to participate as professors in this master's degree.

Their experts in CNC, data acquisition systems and motors have shared their knowledge and experience in industrial control, covering subject matter ranging from acquisition devices (linear and rotary encoders), actuators (axis and head motors), PLC-CNC integration, machine data acquisition and analysis to adjustment tools that improve quality and processes, machine connectivity, etc. All this knowledge is centred on the contribution to digital manufacturing that can be provided by a global CNC automation system.

As stated by Naiara Vidal, coordinator of the master's degree, being able to count on a company like Fagor Automation to design and teach this course has been very beneficial for both the program and the students.

"The professors from Fagor Automation have provided a practical vision of the theoretical concepts that are commonly dealt with from an academic viewpoint, using examples from the industry to illustrate real scenarios". During the master's course, students have been able to see the enormous potential that these concepts represent in the practical domain. "This last step is usually not included in university studies. This master's degree attempts to avoid this weakness, which is why the participation of the professors from Fagor Automation has been key, added Vidal.
