WOLCO TO SUPPLY THE BOSCH GROUP WITH TOOLS FOR ALL ITS PLANTS

18 June, 2021

Tool cutting specialists, Wolco, have signed a contract with the Bosch Group to design and supply tools for all of its plants around the world for the next three years, which will mean a 30% increase in the order portfolio by the German multinational. The Bizkaia-based company explains that, with the awarding of this latest contract, Wolco will be included in the list of certified Bosch suppliers worldwide, thus consolidating its current product catalogue and also opening up the Bosch catalogue to including new products.

Supplies will be carried out from Wolco’s Lemoa plant and also from the factory it set up in Mexico in 2018 in response to the prospects of growth.

Executing the contract will entail investments in R&D projects to improve the plants and manufacturing processes of Bosch. The Eureka programme’s Fantomic project is framed within this line of work, led by the leading German group and in which Wolco is taking part in order to optimise tool performance based on cutting-edge micro repairs. The Bizkaia-based company combines this initiative with the Tecch4Cut project by Hazitek which aims to optimise the monitoring of machining processes, and also Hazitek Faktoria, led by ITP, for machining the new turbine.

Founded in 1972, Wolco is a company specialised in designing and manufacturing special cutting tools that offer customised solutions. It belongs to the Wolco Group, which brings together four companies offering cutting solutions to customers in all industrial fields (industrial, metalworking, automotive, aeronautics, recycling and wood). The Group is comprised of Wolco, ALFE Cutting, Cisidel and Carbid Tool.
