LANTEK DEMONSTRATES ITS COMMITMENT TO TALENT AND EMPLOYMENT IN THE BACK TO ARABA TALENT FORUM 2020

15 January, 2021

Lantek is a multinational company focused on the development and marketing of CAD/CAM/MES/ERP software solutions and a pioneer in digital transformation of metal industry companies. True to its commitment to talent and the generation of quality job opportunities with a promising future, Lantek participated in the Back to Araba Talent Forum 2020, which was held online on 21 and 22 December.

The third edition of this initiative, sponsored by SEA Empresas Alavesas, was organised with two goals in mind. First, to manifest the needs and concrete circumstances of the industrial fabric in Alava and to reveal both the challenges and opportunities that it faces. Second, the forum centred on assisting Alava companies to generate their specific job opportunities and contact professionals from Alava, whether they resided in or outside the territory, to commence a potential short, medium or long-term relationship.

We are going through a health crisis that is affecting the companies in the region, insofar as it directly affects their capacity to hire new talent. However, we have to keep in mind that the situation is temporary and that, given the current demographic situation and the lack of certain technical profiles, companies must continue to attempt to recruit talent for the short, medium and long-term. The Back to Araba Talent Forum intends to counsel and guide professionals in this uncertain situation, putting them in direct contact with regional companies. It is vital for the Araba brand, representing a talent-oriented territory, to provide information about the current situation and optimistic expectations for the future.

Lantek is aware of the importance and need to attract talent. Its presence in the Back to Araba Talent Forum intends to make the most of the opportunity to find future candidates to whom they can propose a solvent, attractive and promising project. This project, in which innovation and technical specialisation are a part of the company's fundamental purpose, has made the company what it is today, a leading company in the metal transformation industry.

It was within this framework that the Director of People Development at Lantek, Gemma Nogales, participated in today's round table titled "The future of technology and employment in Alava". In her presentation, Ms. Nogales analysed the sector's situation in detail, as well as the difficulties companies are encountering in the recruitment of specific STEAM profiles that many of them need, given the scarcity of qualified, talented professionals.

"I think that the Back to Araba initiative is key to the strategy of attracting talent to our province. It plays a fundamental role in generating and promoting contact and cooperation networks. It allows professionals who left their birthplace at some point to discover that Alava companies now have job offers that will enable them to return to their home, employment alternatives that embody a return to that project of a lifetime that they left on hold in the past, while also representing an excellent opportunity for our territory to recover long-awaited talent", explained Gemma Nogales, Lantek's Director of People Development.

"Lantek's primary mover are people and one of the essential factors in the company's identity is our responsibility to find and develop the best talent. That is why initiatives such as these are so rewarding for us", she highlighted.
