19 May, 2026Grundfos has introduced an innovative Soft PLC communication interface integrated into its CIM 550 P Ethernet card. This proprietary and patented solution enables the company’s electronic pumps to be programmed and precisely adapted to the specific needs of each industrial application.
The solution stands out for its flexibility and integration capabilities, allowing both Grundfos products and third-party equipment to be connected and controlled within the same system. It can also be easily integrated into SCADA systems or local PLCs, with programming carried out using standard PLC code.
According to Grundfos, this technology provides programmable and precise control over all connected devices, offering an efficient and versatile solution for industrial environments. Its benefits include energy savings, reduced carbon emissions, and improved pump reliability and efficiency.
The Soft PLC interface is particularly aimed at OEM manufacturers of systems such as reverse osmosis plants, chillers, and industrial washing equipment, as it simplifies hardware design and reduces installation and maintenance costs. By integrating directly into the pump motor, it eliminates the need for independent control panels, additional wiring, and other components associated with external PLCs.
