27 August, 2025With the aim of optimizing finishing processes and enhancing quality, Integi presents the HBID internal burnishing tool, designed to achieve high-precision internal surfaces with excellent finish quality.
The burnishing process consists of applying pressure to the surface of a workpiece using either a hardened roller or a diamond tip. This pressure “flattens” the peaks formed during turning, resulting in a much smoother surface with a significantly lower Ra (roughness) value. This type of finish is ideal when very fine and precise fits are required.
Its main advantages and features include reduced production times, a sealed spring housing that extends the lifespan of the components, and the inclusion of a special key that allows for quick and easy replacement of the diamond tip. In addition, this tool can be used on workpieces made of various materials with hardness up to 63 HRC.
