09 March, 2026IMH Campus and Rural Kutxa’s Social Action department have signed a partnership agreement to promote the programme “Digital Diagnostics in Advanced Manufacturing Companies”, an initiative aimed at improving the competitiveness of the industrial sector through the identification and implementation of digitalisation projects.
The agreement was signed during the BIEMH – International Machine Tool Biennial, which is celebrating its 33rd edition and is considered the largest industrial trade fair in Spain. At this event, leading companies in the sector present their latest technological innovations and advanced solutions for industry, making it a key platform for promoting initiatives that contribute to the digital transformation of the industrial sector.
The programme will enable 10 digital assessments to be carried out in industrial companies, on the basis of which up to 10 digitalisation projects will be defined, aimed at improving the competitiveness of the participating companies. The initiative is aimed at companies in the Basque Country, Navarre and La Rioja linked to the AFM Cluster.
The project will be carried out in two phases.
In the first phase, an assessment will be carried out to determine the level of digitalisation within companies, with the aim of evaluating their current situation and identifying opportunities for technological improvement. This phase will be 100% funded by Acción Social de Rural Kutxa, with a maximum grant of €2,500 per company.
In a second phase, companies that decide to proceed with any of the identified initiatives will receive advice on the technical definition of the project and support during the initial implementation stages, with a grant covering 60% of the cost and a maximum of €1,500 per company.
During the signing of the agreement, Zigor Esnaola, head of companies and institutions at IMH Campus, highlighted that this agreement represents “a further step in supporting industrial companies in their digital transformation process, providing tools and knowledge to improve their competitiveness and tackle the sector’s new technological challenges”.
For his part, Josu Labiano, head of the Gipuzkoa region at RURAL KUTXA, emphasised that “this collaboration reflects the organisation’s commitment to the economic and social development of the region, supporting initiatives that foster innovation, business competitiveness and the progress of the industrial fabric”.
The agreement will run for two years, until March 2028, during which time the various actions planned under the programme will be carried out.
