LAIP DEVELOPS LOTU, AN AUTOMATIC MACHINE FOR TIGHTENING COLLET CHUCK NUTS

LAIP has developed Lotu, a new automatic machine designed to tighten nuts on HPTC and ER collet chucks. The solution automates the clamping process between the toolholder and the cutting tool, with the aim of improving ergonomics, reducing setup times and ensuring greater repeatability.

The system standardises both runout and tightening torque, preventing excessive tightening that could affect the service life of the collet chuck and cutting tool. With this development, the company aims to meet the increasing precision and quality requirements of machining processes.

With almost 70 years of experience, LAIP manufactures more than 30,000 toolholders annually and supplies sectors including aerospace, machine tools and general industry. The company generates annual revenues of around €3.5 million and exports 55% of its sales to more than 35 countries, with a significant presence in the United States, France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland.
