VISIT BY THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF INDUSTRY, BEGOÑA CRISTETO, TO THE MACHINE TOOL SECTOR.

Officials from the AFM sectoral association accompanied Begoña Cristeto during her visit to some of the main manufacturers of the machine-tool, components, tools and accessories sector.

The Secretary General of Industry of the Spanish Government, Begoña Cristeto, headed a delegation of the Ministry of Industry, which visited some of the main companies of the machine-tool sector on the 24th October. She was accompanied by Antxon Lopez Usoz, President of AFM - Machine-tool, component, tool and accessory manufacturers’ association and other members of its board.

The first company visited by the delegation of the Ministry of Industry was IZAR CUTTING TOOLS, cutting tool manufacturers in Amorebieta, where they were welcomed by the managing director, Carlos Pujana. He showed them the company’s production capacities and the internal operation of a workforce-owned company, firmly committed to the social economy and respectful with the environment.

The facilities of the Danobat Group in Elgoibar were the next destination of the Industry representatives. After hearing about the challenges and needs faced by the Machine-tool sector, which were presented by the director general of AFM, Xabier Ortueta, the general manager of the DANOBAT GROUP, Iñigo Ucin, gave the presentation of one of the main manufacturers of the sector and accompanied them during their visit to the production facilities. He also presented their latest advances aimed at the aeronautical and composite sectors. The day ended with a visit to the Machine-Tool Museum in Elgoibar.
