The Gipuzkoa-based company, Goizper S. Coop, a benchmark worldwide in the markets for spraying and power transmission components for the machinery and automation sectors, is increasing its presence in China with a new production plant in the city of Wuxi.

The industrial division’s new plant in China will be operational from the second half of 2012. The aim is to meet the needs of the Asian market in situ, with a stand-out, customised service adapted to the technical requirements of the market. This manufacturing plant will make it possible to offer better customer service together with turnkey solutions. Projects requiring pneumatic clutch-brakes and other power transmission components will form part of the industrial production in China.

As Alvaro Martínez de Lagos, Goizper’s Managing Director, pointed out, “our challenge for 2012 lies in making new investments to promote our diversification and enable us to be competitive in terms of costs as manufacturers in the Basque Country, and in increasing our presence abroad. Indeed, China is the first aim to be met with the opening of a production plant. It will be our industrial division that will meet the growing demand from the Asian market in the automotive and capital goods sectors. This 2,000 m2 plant is going to be located in the city of Wuxi, in the Wind Power Science & Technology Industrial Park. Initially it is going to cost €1.5m ad have a workforce of 20 people to get it up and running”.

“As for the Spraying division, we shall continue with our policy of innovation and launching new products, fully manufactured at the Antzuola plant in the province of Gipuzkoa and with our firm commitment to meet EU quality and manufacturing standards”, went on Mr Martínez de Lagos.

“Currently, we have strengthened our sales network to tackle potential markets like Brazil, Eastern Europe and Nafta”.

“In total, we are planning to invest around €4m this year, which will provide us with a strong rate of growth and diversification with new lines of business in the agro-chemical sector with environment-friendly features; where we are already present with BIOFUNGITEK; and will continue with other lines of expansion, new takeovers, investments and production improvement at the Antzuola plant.”

Goizper S. Coop., set up in 1959 in Antzuola in the province of Gipuzkoa, currently carries out its business activities in more than 35,000 m2 of floor space. This area also includes Goizper’s own Technology Centre for Research, Development and Innovation: OLAKER, which is responsible for carrying out R&D&i projects, applying new technologies, new developments, quality tests and continuous improvement of products.

Goizper has also been awarded ISO-9001:2000 certification, which ensures the process and control of total quality, starting with product design, through to after-sales and customer service.
