AFM Technical Symposium in the Chinese-Spanish Machine Tool Vocational Training Centre in Tianjin

On 21 November a technical symposium organised by AFM (Spanish Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers) was held in the CSMC (Chinese-Spanish Machine Tool Vocational Training Centre). This event has helped put important Spanish companies from the sector in contact with several Chinese machine tool using companies, in particular die and mould manufacturers and companies from the auxiliary automotive sector.

The symposiums AFM has been organising in the Tianjin CSMC, are aimed at promoting the industrial and technological image of the country, added to being a meeting point for Spanish companies and potential Chinese customers. On this occasion, the companies participating from AFM were Alecop, Autopulit, GH Electrotermia, IBARMIA, Nicolás Correa, Ona, Puigjaner and Zayer. As for China, the participants mainly came from the die and mould and automotive sectors After the presentation phase on behalf of ICEX, from AFM, and the FEAMM and ASCAMM associations (Spanish associations representing the die and mould sector), a series of bilateral interviews took place between the Chinese and Spanish companies.
The CSMC, opened in December 2003, is a professional training centre specialised in machine tools, located in Tianjin, a large Chinese city. It is one of the most distinguished achievements of Spanish presence in China and constitutes, without a doubt, a notable reference of the bilateral collaboration between the two countries.
The Institute’s general objective is training qualified personnel for the Chinese machine tool using, such as automotive, aeronautics, railway, etc. companies. It also serves as a meeting point and operations base for the Spanish companies that have set out to increase their presence on the Chinese market To this end, the centre, located in very modern premises, has training programmes designed in Spain and adapted to the needs of the Tianjin industrial fabric, teaching and management staff trained in Spanish systems, an ultra modern workshop with 42 high technology machines integrally developed in Spain, CNC laboratories, CAD/CAM design and teaching machinery and an auditorium and audiovisual room equipped for 200 people.
