The AFM, (Spanish Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers), in collaboration with the ICEX (Spanish Foreign Trade Institute), has coordinated the participation of Spanish firms in the TOL EXPO fair held from 17 to 20 November in Paris.
The fair, held every two years, is one the main events for the machine tool sector. 183 exhibitors took part in this year’s event (44% of them were international) which occupied a net surface area of 8,000 square metres and where there were 11,000 visitors. The 2009 event also coincided with another two important fairs, Midest (Industrial Subcontracting) and Maintenance Expo, thereby enabling advantage to be taken of a series of synergies by both the exhibitors and the visitors.
TOL EXPO is an international exhibition of production equipment for working sheet metal, tubes and coils. On this occasion four Spanish firms took part: Arisa, Lantek, Loire Safe and the AFM itself, taking up an exhibition area of 98 square metres. France is the third largest destination for Spanish machine tool exports. In 2008, 65.58 million euros of business was carried out in the French market, which was 26.45% up on the previous year.
