Those responsible for the company together with the Director General of The Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers, Xabier Ortueta, made a company presentation and subsequently showed the First Minister for Gipuzkoa and the Member for Innovation and Knowledge Society, José Ramón Guridi, around the facilities.

The Geka Group has been manufacturing punching shears for working with angles, plates and profiles, for the steel structure construction sector and pylons for power lines, telecommunications or metalwork since 1919.

The company was founded almost one hundred years, as a workshop that began with the manufacture of small sheet metal cutting shears. From those first punching shears, market needs, new technology or changes in the mass production of metal; have caused the GEKA Group to adapt their machinery to the changing times. So the initial manual shears went on to become first mechanically operated and then hydraulically. The latter have a new version on automatic lines or CNC.
