The Malaysian Spanish Institute, UniKL-MSI, is an advanced technology centre in the field of vocational training. The UniKL-MSI is located in the Kulim Technology Park in the State of Kedah in the north of Malaysia.

It is the result of the cooperation between MARA (public organisation for the development of the native Bumiputra people) and the Spanish Machine tool sector. It has been possible thanks to the cooperation between Malaysian and the Spanish Governments in the field of Vocational Training.

PROSCHOOLS has participated in the execution of the project managing the delivery, installation, commissioning, technical assistance service and guarantee of the conventional and CNC machinery included in the project.

The UniKL-MSI was set up to meet the need for qualified personnel in advanced technologies in the electronic sector and in the manufacturing sector of automotive components and motorcycles.

Activities carried out:

• Technical assistance: Identification of the project, building construction consultancy, recruitment and training of teachers and managers, curricular development and purchase of the machinery and the provided equipment.
• Technical support: Co-Director and long and short-term experts, supply of IT applications.
• Equipment supply: Laboratories and didactic and industrial machinery.
• Permanent assistance.

Lay-out of the Institute:

• Laboratories: CAD, CAM, CAE, basic electricity, electrical machinery, general electronics, automatisms, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic and advanced metrology, materials, didactic CNC machinery, maintenance and assembly.
• Machine tool workshop: The Centre has been fitted out with 54 conventional machines and 26 CNC machines. A total of 80 machine tools with exclusive Spanish Technology, a clear indicator of the high technological levels reached in Spain.
