JESÚS BILBAO, JOXE MARI KORTA 2016 AWARD

In addition to Jesús Bilbao, the award will be received by Matilde Elexpuru, Maria Luisa Galardi and Jesus Martinez Bujanda, at the presentation ceremony that will take place on 22 November at Lehendakaritza of the Basque Government.

The Department of Economic Development and Competitiveness of the Basque Government has announced that the Joxe Mari Korta 2016 awards will acknowledge the career tracks of Jesús Bilbao Aizpiri, Matilde Elexpuru Soloaga, Maria Luisa Galardi Aduriz and Jesús Martinez Bujanda Irribarria, entrepreneurs whose careers have developed in such different sectors as machine tool, home furniture, events services or wine-growing. The jury, chaired by the Regional Minister of Economic Development and Competitiveness, Arantxa Tapia and comprised of representatives from the Basque Government, the business associations, Confebask, Adegi, Cebek and SEA, and the Bidetik Foundation, wish to highlight the work carried out by these people in the business world and thank them for it.

Jesús Bilbao was vice-president and director of AFM. He started his professional career at Danobat, a company that he left in 1974 to found, together with several Machine Tool business leaders, MAHERHOLDING, where he held the post of General Manager, together with Juan Gabilondo, until he retired on 30 December 2005. Whilst at Maherholding, he held different posts in its subsidiaries and holdings, highlighting the post of General Manager of Goratu, which he held for eight years.

He has also held posts on the Boards of Directors of MAHERHOLDING, AFM, INVEMA, ACOMHE, TEKNIKER, FATRONIK (as board member and as Chairman) at EKOR, ADEGI, ADEGILAN and at IMH.
