西班牙机械及工具制造商联盟是一个独立化、专业化的联盟。它是私有制的，建于1946年。它们的基本宗旨是：

*通过一系列广泛领域的服务更新，来迎合制造商的各种需求，并以此促进机械工具制造行业的发展，使其国际化，提高竞争力。
永远以该行业的目标为己任，给予长期的支持，维护各联盟企业的利益。

AFM代表了该行业的整体生产力。（92%）

如同其他14个欧洲制造商联盟一样，AFM如今是CECIMO的一员，AFM在担任了委员会中主席一职之后，现在是常任副主席之一。
